Gavino Named 2025 ASCE Austin YMF Young Engineer of the Year
AUSTIN, Texas — Halff Project Manager Jopert “JP” Gavino, PE, CFM, was recently named as the 2025 Young Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) Austin Chapter Younger Member Forum (YMF).
This award is presented to an ASCE Younger Member who has demonstrated leadership, contribution to practice and participation in professional and civic organizations.
Gavino is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and has been with Halff for nearly seven years. He started as a graduate civil engineer and now serves as a project manager in Water Resources focusing on flood safety. He has worked on and overseen impactful projects for clients such as the City of Austin, the City of Round Rock, Travis County and many more in the greater Austin area.
Gavino is actively involved in professional organizations such as the ASCE Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI), where he serves as president of the Austin chapter.
Gavino accepted the award at the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) Engineers Week Banquet last month.
